Shops

The main shopping centre is Bude about 12 miles away with a large Morrison's, Sainsbury's and Boot's. There are also shopping centres at Launceston, 16 miles away, Tesco, Co-op, with a wonderful old Town centre. The nearest cities are Truro, Plymouth and Exeter.

Pubs

Coombe Bartin Inn at Crackington Haven with good bar food, restaurant and large childrens room. The Old Wainhouse at Wainhouse Corner. The Horseshoe Inn at Tresparrett. The Cobweb Inn, The Wellington and Napoleon at Boscastle.

Beaches

The nearest beaches are Crackington Haven, Widemouth Bay and Bude all excellent for surfing, rock pooling, swimming and sunbathing. Polzeath, Daymer Bay, Treyarnan Bay are also within an hours drive and have good beach facilities.

Golf

There are some extremely good courses at Launceston, Camelford, Holsworthy and Bude. The Jack Nicklaus course at St Mellion is about 45 minutes away and therefore in easy driving distance. Ivyleaf the other side of stratton is another good course and there is no requirements for formal golf dress.

Fishing

Around Crackington and Boscastle within walking and driving distances are places to fish. Boats leave from Boscastle harbour for sea fishing trips, shark fishing trips from Padstow and lake/course fishing at Tamar Lakes. Sea fishing off the beach can also be done along with fishing in the harbour and rock pools.

Walks

There are absolutely miles of walking that can be done on the many costal footpaths waiting to be explored. There are trails all over these magnificant north cornish cliffs providing walkers with breathtaking views of the sea, small coves/bays and long sandy beaches. If heights are not your thing then there is also the option of the beaches.

Tennis

In walking distance from the Crackington cottages and a short drive from the Boscastle cottage there are a pair of hardcourt tennis courts. These are maintained well and a popular activity for many locals and visitors within Crackington Haven and surrounding areas. You will need your own equipment however.
